Pumpkin Carving Party Potluck #5

Well the 5th annual PCPP went without a hitch last night although missing a few honorary members! My stomach is still aching from all the food. (the item of choice seemed to be mostly cream cheese & ... cream cheese!) Many kool/scary pumpkins were carved up good; mine had a Clockwork Orange feel due to the weird monacle (even with a chain!) Hey what can I say, the pumpkin SPOKE to me ok? I was just following directions. Hopefully some pictures will circulate soon.

The night concluded with Bram Stoker's Way of the Vampire courtesy of John D. Now I don't believe Mr Stoker truly had anything to do with this horrible movie other than the story being LOOSELY based on Dracula. It was a canadian film as well so the acting was IMPECCABLE! (I loved the part when the lead character Dr. Van Helsing talked about Nosterfatu! Yes he pronounced it that way, this is not a typo) Alot of gratuitous side-boob (yeah how disappointing) & pointless vamp-porn scenes mixed with lusting bloodsuckers killing their victims which surpisingly had NO blood spurting from their jugulars...maybe those vampires were part Hoover? Night scenes in the movie looked like they were filmed during the day but switched to a black & white lense. You know I REALLY like that effect! Low budget all the way.

Well time was definately lost with that one. Oh Nosterfatu where did you go wrong?? I'll have to give this one 5 rotting pumpkins...taking the place of Leperchaun in the "holy shit what a bad movie" dept. Or was is Leperchaun 2? anyone remember?

*ching ching ching*

Chopping Mall is that you? Where were you last night???

I hate working 8 hrs a day. By the time I get home, I'm too tired to cook...yet I'm starving! I cant even think straight.

Got back from Winnipeg yesterday. Was an interesting trip. Already some tension in regards to the wedding/ BOO!

I will post later all about it. I'm just wasting time with this useless post.....

Holy Stoner Rock Batman - Priestess w/ Tiger Pride & Nashville Pussy @ The Roxy Oct 5

I had the glory of first seeing Priestess at the HMV conference in Toronto this past Sept promoting their album "Hello Master". (it hits stores Oct 17) These boys kicked it with the intensity of Black Sabbath & Kyuss...a sound we all know Natty ADORES! Very crazy to see them rockin it in a conference room filled with HMV execs! They even had their own groupies whom almost took out our president Humphrey with their crazy headbanging. Kickass!

I was VERY pleased to see them in more of their own element at the Roxy here in Saskatoon this past Thurs. The opening band, Pride Tiger, had the stylings of Clutch meeting Death From Above craziness on the drumkit. A perfect way to warm up the evening in my books. I'm disappointed that I didn't pick up an album of theirs at the show...
Priestess followed with a KILLER set which included a 5 minute drum solo that just kept giving! Concluding with the 10 minute jam to end all jams, these boys don't make me regret in the least that I've missed out on all the super sonic sounds I would've died to see back in the 70s. Descending & harmonizing guitar wanking with bass lines to make you groove, I don't think my head stopped banging all set!

I promised to make these boys big out West when I met them in T.O., so all of you NOW check them out!!

They were so bloody amazing, I didn't even STAY for Nashville Pussy!

Burnt pickles & mangoes

We'll hell ya it's been a long freakin time. I feel like I've lost some friends so it's time to RECONNECT! (it's funny that Henry Rollins is singing in my head at this very moment to do the opposite...)

We were gifted Clint & Dwayne's old 'puter & finally got the net all sorted out. Eventually we wanna get an IBook with some wireless going on, but this'll do in the meantime. So how is everyone? Does anyone even remember who I am??

In Natty News:

We've set a date! Aug 18th 2007. Write it down foo's. We're hoping to have an outdoor wedding, possibly at the Bes' Gardens. We'll see. Jordy wants elephants too.

Feb. is coming up FAST. For those of you who don't know, we (jordy, clint, dwayne & I) are going to Mexico for 10 days. We've booked our tours too already. Get this...we're going on a 3 hour jungle excursion where we get to hike to various platforms in the canopy & zipline!! AH! I'm so pumped. We're also swimming with dolphins & whales in the ocean. Now this I'm freaked for. I'm so MORTALLY afraid of water so this chica needs to get over her fear QUICK. & I'm a Pisces...go figure. But I'm enrolling into some adult swim lessons so I think if I actually learn how to swim maybe I won't be so scared anymore huh? I really wanted to release some sea turtles instead but everyone laughed at me. Oh well...

HMV is kickin. It's been nutzo but things have really come together with staffing which is nice. We're hiring back Robert! YAY!

Jordy got manager at ProFit (the spa he massages in at the 'Bes) He's quitting Urban Barn & we'll be making more than I do! (jerkface) Anyhow, it's a huge challenge with awesome wages/commission so we're pretty happy! Congrats to the one who has slight delicate ankles (don't worry hun they're delicately manly!)

Well I think that's enuff for now. This kid is starving & I think possibly my cabbage rolls may be ready to nosh on. I miss all you cyber kids very much! I hope you haven't forgotten about me. I'm dedicating Oct as the month of reconnection (no Henry I said reconnect not disconnect. man why's he so angry all the time??)

Peace!
